About the Woman

Born at the Atlantic City Medical Center two days before Christmas, Mika Murray made her debut. Exposure to daily horoscopes at a young age, a passion for all things space was born. My mom encouraged learning about the heavenly bodies above through chart readings with a local Astrologer/Psychic. Watching Superman the Movie with Pop-Pop ignited a passion for flying (hey, a girl can dream).

Reading and writing fueled the ability to escape everyday normalcy.

I earned my first degree at Stockton University in Pomona, NJ. After graduation, I became an Adjunct English Instructor at Atlantic Cape Community College.

While teaching, students constantly asked for advice or assistance with multiple crises in their lives.

Fighting social injustice is a large part of who I am, and I received a second Bachelors’ Degree in Social Work.

My obsession with Harry Potter re-awakened an addiction to reading and fueled a love for Sirius (Black), the brightest star in our solar system and one of the best characters in the Potter universe.

The ability to assist people as a social worker enables me to listen to their wants and needs actively. Therefore, my writing clients have the advantage of working with a writer who comforts, empathizes, and helps you bring your vision to life.

Three Interesting Facts About Me

  1. I received my first bi-line at the age of 15. The local newspaper, the Press of Atlantic City, developed a teen section called Generation Next. I wrote film reviews and attended an EnVogue concert! Yes, I’m truly telling my age with that tidbit. Years later, I created a blog titled PJ’s and a Movie, where I critiqued movies and focused on how they helped me handle day-to-day problems.
  2. I wrote my first story, The Man Who Loved Apples, at the age of nine. I turned it into a stapled book and gave it to my mom.
  3. I saw Steven Tyler, the leader of Aerosmith, at a local Wawa convenience store. I spotted Kevin Bacon in my old Atlantic City neighborhood. Steven was in town for a concert, and Kevin volunteered to help families impacted by Storm Sandy. Sure it’s not related to writing, but it’s a neat fact.
